I'M GLAD YOU'RE HERE

One of the hardest things as a parent is to find good information to guide parenting decisions.  The internet has abundant resources but they leave the reader to digest it all on their own.  That's where my expertise in teaching and simplifying information comes in.

HI, I'M DR. RANDY

I have been practicing as a pediatric occupational therapist for over twenty seven years.  I have extensive experience working with infants, toddlers and school age children and specific expertise in working with medically complex infants and toddlers, graduates from the NICU, children with sensory issues and much more.  Currently I am also a Program Director and professor of occupational therapy at NEIT and I own and operate a small private occupational therapy practice – Sensation Station.

MY STORY

I worked as a pediatric occupational therapist with children for 27 years. I always loved kids and had a passion to work with them.  Then I became a father.

My journey began when my daughter was born in May 2021.  I thought I new a lot, but as it turns out, I had a lot to learn.  Parenthood has been the most humbling experience for me and with all my expertise and education, I continue to learn from her everyday.

I still own my private practices and work with children but I feel that I can help so many more children beyond the walls of my clinics through parent education.  Hence the development of this site and the course offerings that you will find here.

WHY DO I TEACH?

I have a passion for educating others. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and ideas. I have a unique talent for using pop culture and metaphors to explain difficult concepts.

As I looked at the parents of the children in my clinic and in my social circles who struggle to sort through the vast information on the internet, I realized that my talent could be used to help so many more children and families.

Everyone has the capacity to learn.  They just need the right teacher.

MY VALUES

I value lifelong learning.  There is always something to gain from new experiences and knowledge is acquired through linking what we thought we knew yesterday to what we may learn tomorrow.  Even if it is difficult, I ask for help when I need it.  I must remember not to be too hard on myself because I am doing the best that I can.  I take time for myself because I cannot help anyone if I do not engage in self-care.  Family comes first and I have devoted my life's work to providing for my family so that my daughter will have a bright future.
